Here's
what OPTA Members Did for PT Month!
By Heather Goodell, MPT, Chair of Public Relations Committee with
Emily Lighthipe, PT, DPT, Member at Large #3
It is the
little bit each of us has contributed that makes a tremendous impact
in getting the word out about physical therapy. Thank you to all of
the volunteers - this is an amazing list of activities that we
should be proud of! Apologies to those whose names we did not have
available to list.

In addition to these presentations, I
attended the Report Card Unveiling for Children First for Oregon meeting
with Gov. Kitzhaber. Several other legislators were present including Sen.
Gordon Smith's Chief of Staff. I have also been communicating with Safe
Kids International based out of South Carolina. They asked for a BackTpack
sample since they are concerned with the increasing prevalence of pain and
injury among backpack wearing students."
Providence Portland Inpatient PT
Department:
Raised over $1,000 to donate to Free Wheelchair Mission through a weeklong
raffle.
