Term of Office: |
Two years. The Secretary is elected at
the Spring Meeting of the odd numbered years and takes office at
the conclusion of such meeting. |

Bylaws Qualification: |
Active/PT, Life/PT, Affiliate/PTA or
Life Affiliate/PTA members of the APTA in good standing. Candidate
shall have been a member of APTA for one year and a member of OPTA
for at least six months immediately prior to election. |

Other Qualifications: |
Be willing to play an active roll in
chapter activities on an ongoing basis. |

Chapter
Responsibilities: |

Attend all Board of Directors
meetings as an active participant.

Attend OPTA membership and business
meetings as an active participant.

Take and keep minutes of the
proceedings of membership meetings, business meetings, and Board
of Directors meetings, providing a typed copy of such minutes to
the executive staff for subsequent distribution as appropriate.

Prepare reports as necessary to keep
the Board and membership informed of the activities of the office.

Maintain Board of Directors
Officers’ Manual in appropriate format and be responsible for
turning it over to successor at the end of the elected term.
Annually review BoD officers manual content and application.

Assist BoD and committee chairs in
turning in timely reports before board/business meetings, Minutes
should reflect discussions/action items to BoD SP, goals, etc
-
Mentor 1-2 possible candidates who
could run for the office of secretary. Meet with successor to
review responsibilities and activities of the office.

Time Commitment: |
2 days business mtgs, 1 day retreat
and BoD/EC meetings. 4hr a month average.. |
