Active/PT Delegate to the APTA House
of Delegates |

Term of Office: |
Two years. The delegate is elected at
the Fall Meeting annually and assumes responsibilities at the
conclusion of that meeting for a two-year term. Terms are staggered
so that approximately half of the delegates are elected in alternate
years. |

Bylaws Qualification: |
Active/PT Delegate candidates shall
have been a member in good standing of APTA for two years
immediately prior to election. |

Other Qualifications: |
Candidates must be willing to travel
to the next scheduled APTA House of Delegates (HOD) meeting and be
willing to cover incidental expenses, if any, which exceed the
$1,000 stipend provided by OPTA. |

Responsibilities: |

Participate in 2-4 caucus meetings
of the Oregon Delegation called by the Chief Delegate and held
between January and at least two weeks prior to departure for the
APTA House of Delegates meeting.

Arrive at the Annual Conference the
evening prior to the first day of scheduled caucuses and candidate
interview. Notify the Chief Delegate of your arrival time and
hotel location.

Attend the annual and special
meetings of the APTA House of Delegates, representing OPTA in
matters as are ordered by the Chapter.

Attend all sessions of the Western
States Caucus before and during the APTA House of Delegates,
including candidate interview sessions. Attend all other meetings
scheduled for delegates.

File an expense report with the OPTA
executive staff upon return from the APTA House of Delegates,
providing original receipts for appropriate expenses.
Reimbursement up to a $1,000 stipend for expenses related to the
HOD participation will be provided only upon completion of this
responsibility.

Time Commitment: |
4-8 hours per month from January
through the House of Delegates in May or June for Oregon Caucus
meetings and to keep updated on House of Delegates message board.
House of Delegates is a 4-5 day commitment with travel necessary. |
